Amy Sager, Accompanist

Amy Sager - Accompanist for Laudamus Chamber Chorale

A high school choral music teacher for 17 years in Arizona and Colorado, Amy’s last position was at Fort Collins High School where she also served as Music Department Chair. Amy enjoyed teaching very much and choral students in her programs have received many honors, awards, music scholarships, and were placed in regional and all-state honor choirs. Her ensembles consistently received superior ratings at festivals, and Amy is an active clinician and adjudicator for choral competitions in the west. In 2005, her A Cappella Choir from Ft. Collins High School was selected to perform at CMEA. She served on the Colorado All-State Honor Choir Board for five years, chaired the organization in 2007-08, and is in her fourth year as an All-State Judge. She has also served as chorusmaster and conductor for Loveland Opera Theatre.

Amy graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University, with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in choral music, studying with Douglas McEwen, David Stocker, and Donald Bailey. She accompanied the choirs at ASU during her undergraduate degree, studying piano with Rayna Barroll. She accompanies her church choir at Redeemer Lutheran Church and also sings with Kantorei, a Denver-based community choir. Now “retired” from teaching, she is happy to be a stay-at-home mom of two boys—3 year old Brady and 10 month old Casey. She and her husband Marty make their home in Fort Collins.
